PersatuanindoNEWS.com - Mural and graffiti artists from 5 countries are ready to beautify the dilapidated walls along Legok Highway. Four mural and graffiti artists from Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, and South Korea have confirmed their participation to paint the walls from Legok to Islamic starting in September.

This was revealed by the Regent of Tangerang, Ahmed Zaki Iskandar, during an audience with the committee of The Epicentrum Art Festival at the Regent's Hall on Friday (08/25/23).

"Four out of five mural and graffiti artists from Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, and South Korea have expressed their intention to come to Legok and paint the walls along Legok Highway. We are still waiting for confirmation from one artist from Ukraine," said Regent Zaki.

Regent of Tangerang, A. Zaki Iskandar, added that besides rehabilitating the damaged Legok Highway with concrete construction, they also plan to enhance it with mural and graffiti artworks on the existing walls along the highway.

"In addition to road rehabilitation, we will proceed with pedestrian development. Then, the walls on the right and left sides of the road will be adorned by mural and graffiti artists. Eventually, Legok Highway will become more beautiful with mural and graffiti images and paintings," he explained.

Meanwhile, Secretary of The Epicentrum Art Festival, Mukahfi Solihin, stated that the mural festival is scheduled to be held on September 10th, and the preparations are currently 80% complete.

"There will be 25 artists from Tangerang, and in total, there will be around 100 mural and graffiti artists from Kalimantan, Papua, Ambon, Bukit Tinggi, and Jambi who have confirmed their attendance in Tangerang and will paint the walls along Legok Highway," he said.
