PersatuanindoNEWS.com - In order to carry out the 2023 Semeru Drug Eradication Operation, the Narcotics Unit of the Kediri Kota Police conducted an awareness campaign on the dangers of drug abuse for new students at Stain Tribakti Lirboyo in Kediri City, as part of the Orientation Program for New Students (PKKMB), on Friday (August 18th).
"We organized this drug awareness campaign today and targeted new students who are the future generation of our nation," said AKP Ipung Harianto, S.H., M.H., the Head of the Narcotics Unit of the Kediri Kota Police.
He explained that the periodic drug awareness campaign among students is important as a form of protection to prevent the younger generation from falling into deviant behavior, namely drug abuse.
"In order to combat drug trafficking in the jurisdiction of the Kediri Kota Police, we will continue to make various efforts, ranging from advisory measures to preventive actions as a follow-up in eradicating drug trafficking," he said.
He added that there are many factors that can influence someone to engage in drug abuse, so it is necessary to anticipate this with the involvement of all parties, both from the school environment and at home.
"Free association is closely related to drug abuse or the misuse of drugs and similar substances. To anticipate this, the role of teachers, parents, and our own awareness in limiting ourselves in socializing is necessary," he said.
He also reminded students to understand the impact of drug abuse, both on their health and the future of the nation's future generation.
"Dear students, it is important to remember that the consequences of drug abuse not only affect oneself, but also bring shame to one's family if legal action is taken," he said.
On that occasion, the Narcotics Unit of the Kediri Kota Police also expressed appreciation to the school for their participation in the drug awareness campaign.
