Puskesmas Sukamulya Holds Tuberculosis (TB) Counseling and Screening for the Community
PersatuanindoNEWS.com - Sukamulya Community Health Center, located in Sukamulya Subdistrict, Tangerang Regency, conducts tuberculosis (TB) counseling and screening for the community. From an early stage, the community needs to be aware of tuberculosis and take measures to prevent and stop its transmission.

Dr. Eko Hartati MARS, the head of Sukamulya Community Health Center, stated that the center is committed to the success of the Tuberculosis Management Program as the Primary Health Care Facility for the community in Tangerang Regency.

"This is our routine activity, with the aim of raising awareness among the community about lung health. This is also done through improving case detection, treatment access, and service quality, especially for patients," she said.

During this counseling session, she continued, the community is equipped with knowledge about lung health, understanding and symptoms of pulmonary TB, transmission of pulmonary TB, prevention methods for pulmonary TB, management of pulmonary TB, as well as cough etiquette and mask usage.

It should be noted that TB is a serious disease that affects the lungs. If left untreated, it can lead to death. According to the World Health Organization, nearly 4,500 people lose their lives and 30,000 people fall ill from TB every day. However, this disease can be prevented and cured.

"In this activity, we, the Pulmonary TB team of Sukamulya Community Health Center, also collaborate with volunteers and receive support from the Chairperson of TP PKK in Merak Village. The community is very enthusiastic about this activity," Eko said.

Meanwhile, Teti Kusniawati, the Chairperson of the Family Empowerment and Welfare Task Force in Merak Village, Sukamulya Subdistrict, expressed her gratitude to Sukamulya Community Health Center for conducting TB screening and counseling in Merak Village.

"I hope that with the counseling provided by Sukamulya Community Health Center, the community can be aware of tuberculosis and take preventive measures to stop its transmission," she said.
