The speaker for the event was AKP Eri Yanto, the Head of the Narcotics Detective Unit of the West Pasaman District Police.

The West Pasaman District Police Chief, AKBP Agung Basuki, through AKP Eri Yanto, stated that the socialization was intentionally held as an effort to prevent the circulation of drugs and reduce drug abuse in the jurisdiction of the West Pasaman District Police.

With the increasing circulation and use of drugs, which now affect all segments of society, from the elderly to teenagers and even school children, this issue has become a special concern for all of us. It is important for us to work together to eradicate the circulation of these illicit drugs and protect the younger generation from the dangers of drugs," he said.

Not only that, but the circulation of drugs has also reached all areas, from urban areas to remote villages, targeting young people and school children as users.

"This socialization is one of the efforts of the police to combat and prevent drug abuse, and Nagari Koto Gadang Jaya has been designated as a Drug-Free Village," he explained.

AKP Eri Yanto added that the current modern era brings both positive and negative impacts, especially in the daily interactions of the younger generation. This requires an important role from parents and all parties involved, as well as the cooperation of the entire community in eradicating the circulation of drugs in West Pasaman Regency.

"We hope that the entire community can help by providing information related to drug circulation. If there is evidence of drug circulation and abuse, please immediately contact our officers or report it to the nearest police station," he requested.

He also specifically urged the younger generation and teenagers to strive for a better future and be a source of pride for their families. They should never touch, use, or distribute drugs, because if caught by the police, they will face strict legal consequences as stated in Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics.
