Bekasi Regency Battling Drought Crisis: Collaborative Efforts and Hope for Recovery
PersatuanindoNEWS.com - Bekasi Regency, located in West Java Province, is currently struggling against a drought disaster that has affected its region. The local government, Bekasi Regency Administration, promptly raised the emergency alert status to emergency response in order to address this issue promptly. A total of 23 villages in 9 districts have been impacted by the drought, necessitating approximately 25,204 individuals or 6,675 households to bear the burden.

The districts of Cibarusah, Bojongmangu, Serang Baru, Cikarang Pusat, Pebayuran, Sukawangi, Babelan, Tarumajaya, and Muaragembong are the areas most severely affected by the drought. However, three of these districts, namely Cibarusah, Bojongmangu, and Serang Baru, bear the heaviest brunt of the impact.

In light of this situation, the Bekasi Regency Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) is collaborating with several stakeholders such as the Indonesian National Defense Forces/Indonesian National Police, Indonesian Red Cross (PMI), National Alms Agency (Baznas), Regional Disaster Management Forum (FPRB), and Disaster Response Volunteers to promptly and extensively deliver aid to the affected residents. As of this Wednesday, approximately 375,000 liters of clean water have been distributed to help alleviate the burden on the drought victims.

The current situation poses a significant challenge for Bekasi Regency. However, with cooperation and a spirit of mutual assistance from all parties involved, it is hoped that the region can soon recover from this adversity and provide adequate protection and recovery for its residents. Let us pray and provide full support to Bekasi Regency so that they can overcome this difficult period with strength and resilience.
