"We will deploy 66 personnel to support the Presidential Security Force (Pasmpampres), and we will maximize the use of electric motorcycles and four-wheeled vehicles that we have previously used in Labuan Bajo and Bali," said Firman on Friday (September 1, 2023).
Some of these vehicles have also been used in previous security operations in Labuan Bajo and Bali. Firman emphasized that the security for the visiting heads of state attending the ASEAN Summit covers the entire journey from the airport, accommodation, to the ASEAN Summit venue itself.
"We will ensure smooth routes for all necessary locations, from the airport to the accommodations and event venues," he added.
The Indonesian National Armed Forces and National Police have held a joint parade to commence the security operation for the 2023 ASEAN Summit in Jakarta on Friday (September 1, 2023). This security operation will last for 9 days, from September 1 to September 9, 2023.
More than 13,158 combined personnel from the Indonesian National Armed Forces and National Police have been deployed for the security operation of the 2023 ASEAN Summit. In addition to personnel, various tactical vehicles including cars and helicopters have also been prepared to ensure the safety of the visiting heads of state.
